Michael Bloomberg and Brookfield Office Properties Backdown To OWS Kids, Injury Lawyers On High Alert

October 14, 2011

The cleanup of a plaza in lower Manhattan where protesters have been camped out for a month was postponed early Friday, sending cheers up from a crowd that had feared the effort was merely a pretext to evict them. Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway said the owners of the private park, Brookfield Office Properties, had put off the cleaning. Supporters of the protesters had started streaming into the park in the morning darkness before the planned cleaning, forming a crowd of several hundred chanting people.

But protester Nick Gulotta, 23, was jubilant. He originally held up a sign referring to Mayor Michael Bloomberg that said:
“Bloomberg Don’t Evict Occupy Wall Street.” People cheered and clapped him on the back when he scratched out the “don’t” and replaced it with “didn’t.””It shows when people work together, you really can make a difference and make justice happen,” Gulotta said.

Brookfield, a publicly traded real estate firm, had planned to power-wash the plaza section by section over 12 hours and allow the protesters back  but without much of the equipment they needed to sleep and camp there. The company called the conditions at the park unsanitary and unsafe.

Occupy Wall Street Kids Given The Boot In New York City, Concerned Parents On High Alert

October 14, 2011

Friday morning could be the beginning of the end of the “Occupy Wall Street” demonstration.

On Thursday, Brookfield Office Management employees were passing out notices to protesters, who have been camped out for 26 days, saying that tarps, sleeping bags and tents are all prohibited in the park, as is lying on the ground and on benches when it becomes an interference for others.

CBS 2 learned late Thursday night the protestors are preparing in case they cannot base their operations out of Zuccotti Park anymore. They are now encouraging people to occupy Tompkins Square Park in the East Village.

“They might as well as just said ‘You’re done,’” one protester told CBS 2′s Ann Mercogliano earlier Thursday.

“This is an eviction notice,” said another.

Ask The Eye, Help My Annoying Roommate Has Arrested Development

October 4, 2011

Dear Eye View

I am currently in college. My roommate  says that she wants to join the Peace Corps to get down to a size 5.   She is a legislative lobbyist for the student Democrats at our school.  She uses a little c Communist, with a closet full of silk blouses in the exact same shade of ivory.  She at 23, hangs out with a 40 year old union activist who never did any discernible work at all, other than hit on young college women (nice work if you can get it).  She is a  spoiled dilettantes who is but one decent paycheck away from joining the so called evil system they currently protest. She drives me nuts, how can I get rid of her.

Going nuts

Dear GN

I understand your concern.. Suggest she visit New York and attend the Occupy Wall Street Rally. This should help her resolve her issues with Arrested Development. Hope this helps..
