Colorado Health Care Ad Salute Ryan Gosling In Remember The Trojans

November 13, 2013

A new round of advertisements unveiled by supporters of Colorado’s health  insurance exchange has ignited controversy that rippled through  social media  Tuesday and launched debate  over their portrayal of women. While the groups say the aim is to encourage  young people to enroll in the  state’s new health insurance exchange — a pillar  to President  Barack Obama’s  Affordable Care Act — some have said it belittles women. It  also adds to the  partisan back-and-forth  over the new health care law.

“I think it’s a strategic mistake,” Gangadharbatla said. “Consumers could see  it as a joke, making it appear not to be a serious issue. And the issue of  health care is clearly a serious issue in the United States. Gangadharbatla said the ads could also be viewed as stereotypical of  millennials.

Colorado Health Care Ads See Single Women On The Ball

November 13, 2013

Beyoncé was right: It was all the single ladies who put their hands up. New research reveals Barack Obama owes his re-election victory to the unmarried women who turned out in their millions to vote for him.

Nearly a quarter of the voters in Tuesday’s election were unmarried women – and Obama captured more than two-thirds of their votes, 67%, according to research released on Thursday by the Women’s Voices Women Vote Action Fund.”Unmarried women were the drivers of the president’s victory,” said Page Gardner, the president of WVWVAF.

Obamacare 10 Essential Ingredients Gets MSNBC Dylan Ratigan Chopped

November 12, 2013

Obamacare has booted ex-MSNBC host Dylan Ratigan from his health insurance plan. Ratigan stirred up social media when he tweeted that his inexpensive  catastrophic health coverage got cancelled, for which he thanked the  president. President Obama repeatedly declared that “if you like your plan, you can keep your  plan” when he was selling healthcare reform via the Affordable Care Act to  the American people, but this is not is not holding true for those who buy their  insurance directly on the individual market. Obamacare on a one-size-fits-all basis requires insurers to cover 10  so-called essential benefits which rules out many cafeteria/catastrophic plans  that many Americans prefer in the context of their budget and/or income. As a  result, consumers will be compelled to pay for additional coverage that they  neither want nor need and/or which may be inappropriate for their age or  gender. No one needs to hold a bake sale for Dylan Ratigan. As a former high-profile  media personality, Ratigan probably is well-fixed enough financially to afford  higher premiums in the Obamacare environment.

Is It Possible The Obamacare Website is Fixed At The End of November? It Depends on What The Meaning Of “Is” Is

November 11, 2013

No worries. The Healthcare.gov website that is a key component for Obamacare will be ready for prime time by Nov. 30. In fact, as Health and Human Service Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said on Wednesday, the site is already able to handle “17,000 registrants per hour … with almost no errors.”

Unfortunately, a little while later, Sebelius’ optimism appeared to be undercut by one of her own employees. Julie Bataille, spokesperson with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, said that “the site is performing slowly” and that many users were having problems.

Can the Obamacare website really be fixed by the end of this month? Or are the latest sunny forecasts another prelude to a storm?

It depends on what the meaning of the word “is” is .

US Undergoing Bait And Switch By Fly- By- Night Insurance Operators, Can You Hear Me Now?

November 10, 2013

To the list of problems plaguing President Obama’s health care law, add one more — fraud.

With millions of Americans frustrated and bewildered by the trouble-prone federal website for health insurance, con men and unscrupulous marketers are seizing their chance. State and federal authorities report a rising number of consumer complaints, ranging from deceptive sales practices to identity theft, linked to the Affordable Care Act.  I thought it was odd,” Ms. Burdon said, that she immediately contacted her bank and state authorities. Days later, she got a flood of other marketing calls. “I can’t even keep track,” she said. “First it was a Joe, then an Ashley and then at least six other people all claiming to be from the government.” Madeleine Mirzayans was fooled when a man posing as a government official knocked on her door. Barbara Miller and Maevis Ethan were pitched by telemarketers who claimed to work for Medicaid. And Buford Price was almost caught by another trap: websites that look official but are actually bait set by fly-by-night insurance operators.

Millennials Not Trusting Botched Obamacare Site, Vandelay Industries Caught With Their Pants Down

November 8, 2013

The Obama administration must convince 2.7 million Millennials to buy health insurance, or the new government exchanges being set up to provide coverage could prove to be a bust.  Because these younger Americans are usually healthy and rarely rack up huge medical bills, their monthly premiums would make it cheaper for the exchanges to affordably insure 4.3 million other Americans. The government has scrounged up $1.25 billion to market Obamacare—a must-win campaign that could make or break the 2010 law to expand coverage. It’s a gamble on a generation raised by reality TV, fed with Lunchables, stuck with student loans, and addicted to the Internet.

North Carolina Has Only One Person Sign Up For Obamacare

November 8, 2013

North Carolina’s largest insurer is having its share of problems with the Obamacare website.

Internal email obtained by WNCN-TV show that Blue Cross Blue Shield show that only 1,000 people had filled out applications as of October 15th.

In fact, only one person was able to successfully use Healthcare.gov to enroll in the new exchange. But even that single person has not paid, which means the enrollment is not complete. Blue Cross Blue Shield found the entire system is so filled with glitches that the company decided not to upload data because it was afraid false information might enter its computer system. And the emails reveal a scammer was using the insurer’s name to try to obtain personal information.

Cradle Democrates Lose Insurance And All They Have To Show Is A Stupid T-Shirt

November 7, 2013

San Francisco architect Lee Hammack (60) says he and his wife, JoEllen Brothers (59), are “cradle Democrats.” They have donated to the liberal group Organizing for America and worked the phone banks a year ago for President Obama’s re-election.Since 1995, Hammack and Brothers have received their health coverage from Kaiser Permanente, where Brothers worked until 2009 as a dietitian and diabetes educator. “We’ve both been in very good health all of our lives – exercise, don’t smoke, drink lightly, healthy weight, no health issues, and so on,” Hammack told me. But recently, Kaiser informed them the plan would be canceled at the end of the year because it did not meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act. What is Hammack going to do? If his income were to fall below four times the federal poverty level, or about $62,000 for a family of two, he would qualify for subsidies that could lower his premium cost to as low as zero. If he makes even one dollar more, he gets nothing. That’s what he’s leaning toward — lowering his salary or shifting more money toward a retirement account and applying for a subsidy. “We’re not changing our views because of this situation but frustrated that the stewards of the ACA don’t seem to have heard.”

President Obama Increases His Concentration With Higher-Priority Promise

November 5, 2013

President Barack Obama told his enthusiastic supporters Monday night that he  never promised what video  recordings show him promising at least 29 times.

The videos show Obama promising 300 million Americans that “if you like your  health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan, period.”

But that’s not what he really said, Obama announced Monday in a speech to  about 200 Organizing for Action supporters, gathered at the St. Regis hotel in  D.C.“What we said was you could keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law was  passed,” he told Obamacare’s political beneficiaries and contractors. But the newly-revealed exception is justified by a higher-priority promise in  Obamacare, Obama declared.

Starbucks CEO Has A Venti Full Whip Awkward Moment Supports Execution

November 1, 2013

Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz blasted the implementation of Obamacare on Thursday, just a month after he voiced his support for the law.

The socially-conscious CEO said “what the country needs now is real honesty and transparency and truth about what’s really going on.” He said Obamacare’s rollout was “unfortunate” for the American people because there is a lack of trust now in the law and the website.

”Unfortunately, in this kind of situation, execution trumps strategy,” Schultz said on CNBC. “It might be a great strategy, but the execution is really flawed. It’s off the rails.”
