Michael Jacksons Kids Receive $8M A Year Allowance What Could Go Wrong

June 10, 2014

As Michael Jackson’s estate grows in value, the yearly allowance his children Prince, 17, Paris, 16, and Blanket, 12, share has increased from $5 million to $8 million-and it sounds like they take full advantage of it.

Prince has spent more than $50,000 on custom-made jewelry for three of his girlfriends, plus $40,000 on a new Ford pick-up truck. He wants to save enough money to buy back his father’s Neverland Ranch, currently in control of creditors with an asking price of $35 million. Paris also likes to buy gifts for friends, including shoes and athletic gear. The annual cost for her to stay at a therapeutic boarding school, following last year’s suicide attempt, is also in the six figures. Blanket likes to take his cousins to dinners at expensive restaurants; their nights out, which also include trips to the movies, typically come to about $500 plus tips. He also spends $200 an hour for karate lessons and a personal trainer. The kids also take three vacations a year, totaling $350,000 including first-class airfare and security-in Hawaii, they stay in a $5,500-per-night suite; in Vegas, they sometimes rent the Bellagio’s penthouse suite, which can cost as much as $5,000 per night.

Michael Jackson kids receive $8M a year allowance. I see no way this could ever go  wrong?

Eye View Music Michael Jackson Dies While Outperforming REM, Beats World Record

June 25, 2013

Michael Jackson died while preparing to set a world record for the most successful concert run, but he unknowingly set another record that led to his death. Jackson may be the only human ever to go two months without REM — rapid eye movement — sleep, which is vital to keep the brain and body alive. The 60 nights of propofol infusions Dr. Conrad Murray said he gave Jackson to treat his insomnia is something a sleep expert says no one had ever undergone. Propofol disrupts the normal sleep cycle and offers no REM sleep, yet it leaves a patient feeling refreshed as if they had experienced genuine sleep, according to Czeisler. If the singer had not died on June 25, 2009, of an overdose of the surgical anesthetic, the lack of REM sleep may have taken his life within days anyway, according Czeisler’s testimony Friday.

Eye View Pop Culture, Michael Jackson Going On The New Classic Pepsi Cans, What About Coke?

May 4, 2012

Pepsi is about to try once again to breathe serious life into the deceased King of Pop’s  global image in a move that has left some marketing experts aghast and others applauding.

The unexpected marketing announcement comes on the heels of a new, global partnership between Pepsi and the estate of Michael Jackson. Pepsi has lost global market share to rival Coke the past year and is eager to grab some back with what it bills as a 25th anniversary celebration of Jackson’s multiplatinum Bad album and tour. Besides the 1 billion Michael Jackson  cans due to start rolling out in late May, the Pepsi promotion will include live events, iconic music and digital opportunities for fans to get special-edition merchandise. While Jackson died  a little less than three years ago, for Millennials there is a concept in play called “accelerated nostalgia,” says youth marketing consultant Jake Katz. Things are evolving from “current” to “classic” much faster than for previous generations because of social media,  he says. “This is very macabre and seems totally over-the-top to me,” says pop culture guru Watts Wacker. “This will be a very polarizing promotion. They’ll get lots of buzz, but most of it will be negative.”

Jerry Sandusky Is A Big Overgrown Kid That Likes Horse Play

November 15, 2011

The former Penn State assistant football coach at the heart of a massive sex scandal said he showered with young boys and hugged them but called the allegedly criminal contact “horseplay.””I am innocent of those charges,” Sandusky said. “… I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids. I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them, and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact.””Jerry Sandusky is a big overgrown kid,” Amendola said. “He’s a jock, and for anybody who’s ever played sports, you get showers after you work out.”Amendola earlier told CNN that his client was just behaving like “a jock.”We were showering and horsing around, and he actually turned all the showers on and was actually sliding across the floor, and we were, as I recall, possibly like snapping a towel — horseplay,” he said.

Eye View Music, P Diddy Out- Sold By Dead Man, Who’s Your Daddy

December 22, 2010

Michael Jackson‘s “Michael” album enters the charts at number 3 this week, right behind Taylor Swift and Susan Boyle.

“Michael” sold 224,000 copies, about 25,000 less than the two women.

On the other hand, “Michael” was the highest debut album of the week according to hitsdailydouble.com. It outsold new CDs by R. Kelly and P Diddy by more than 100,000 copies. Around the world, however, Sony says it’s an international hit.

However, Jackson’s last album, “Invincible,” sold 363,000 copies in its first week, back on October 30, 2001.

Given the modest amount of money that went into marketing “Michael” and the huge sums wasted on P Diddy, you could say “Michael” is even a bigger hit.

Ask The Eye, Family Doesn’t Always Matter

December 18, 2010

Dear Eye View

I lost my grandmother yesterday, and I am devastated as we were very close. She had Alzheimer’s for years, and I made my peace with this some time ago. My family has planned the funeral for Saturday. Here is the problem: My LSAT is Saturday, and I have waited for years for an opportunity to pursue law school. (I am near 30.) I told my mom that I couldn’t make the funeral because I cannot reschedule the LSAT, and she was furious! I have been on the phone with the LSAT people all morning, pleading to reschedule. No luck. Mom has informed me that she and my family are really disappointed with me, and I need to be at the funeral in order to pay my respects. I don’t want to disappoint my family, but I have waited my entire life for this chance at law school, and I don’t want to give it up now. Additionally, if I don’t take the LSAT on Saturday, I will miss the opportunity to take it again in February (possible surgery), and I can kiss law school for next fall goodbye! Help me please! By the way, totally love your columns! Help

Dear Help

I understand your pain. These family issues are always tricky. Go ahead and take your LSAT your grandmother would understand even if your other family members don’t. Plus this will be good traning when you become a lawyer.Do you think there may have been some unusual circumstances regarding your grandmothers death. Just asking..

Hope this helps

Ask The Eye, Family Heirloom or Creepy Memorobilia

June 27, 2010

Dear Eye View,
My wonderful fiance decided to pop the question using his deceased mother’s wedding ring. He thinks it’s endearing and the start of a family tradition, and “we’ll just get it sized to fit you.” Well, frankly, it’s mortifying to me to wear a dead woman’s ring. Maybe I sound like a witch, because I don’t get the whole family bonding thing through jewelry being passed from one dead relative to another. However, his mom and my mom died at the same age—young—and it means a great deal to him, but I’m the one who’s gonna have to wear the thing.

Help

Dear Help

I see where you are coming from. One person’s heirloom is another persons creepy memorbilia. Since you are not a sentimental person, and do not want a rememberance of a life cut short, tell him you would rather have creepy memorbilia. Tell him an engagement glove will do. Who knows, it might be worth something someday to other creepy- memorbilia- pedophile- loving one handed glove collectors. Hope this helps.
