November 13, 2012

ONE of the Adelaide’s largest joint security operations will protect US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her planned visit next week.

Planning for the massive operation to protect the second most powerful woman in the world has been under way for the past week.

US embassy officials and security specialists have been working with Australian Federal Police, senior SA Police and STAR Group officers to plan the operation.

The visit is expected to be confirmed by White House officials as early as today.

Few details of Ms Clinton’s visit to Austrailia on Wednesday and Thursday have been revealed, but it is understood she will visit close friends, one whom is connected to the Carnegie Mellon University. It also believed that:

THE 150-strong entourage is likely to visit Penfolds’ Magill Estate for either a wine tasting session or private function.

General Petraeus Resigns Days Before He Was To Testify On Libya, Must Have Been The Video

November 10, 2012

Just two days after President Obama’s re-election, General David Petraeus, the CIA Director, has resigned from the administration over an extramarital affair. Petraeus was slated to testify before Congress next week on the murder of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, in Benghazi, Libya. Bret Baier of Fox News just tweeted, “With Petraeus’ resignation effective immediately, he will not testify next week & lawmakers are said to be ‘stunned’ by the announcement.”

October 16, 2012

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took responsibility Monday night for any  security failures leading up to the consulate attack last month in Libya that  killed an the American ambassador, but she seemed to push back against claims of  a cover-up, blaming the “fog of war” for the Obama administration’s shifting  explanations for the attack.

US Writes More Checks To Libya

October 18, 2011

The Obama administration on Tuesday increased U.S. support for Libya’s new leaders as Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton made an unannounced visit to Tripoli and pledged millions of dollars in new aid, including medical care for wounded fighters and additional assistance to secure weaponry that many fear could fall into the hands of terrorists.

U.S. officials said the fresh aid Clinton is bringing totals about $11 million and will boost Washington’s contribution to Libya since the uprising against Moammar Gadhafi began in February to roughly $135 million.

Obama Has No Need For Congress As We Blow Libya’s Ass Into Non-Kinetic Pieces

May 21, 2011

In an effort to satisfy those arguing he needs to seek congressional authorization to continue US military activity in accordance with the War Powers Resolution, President Obama wrote a letter to congressional leaders this afternoon suggesting that the role is now so “limited” he does not need to seek congressional approval.

“Since April 4,” the president wrote, “U.S. participation has consisted of: (1) non-kinetic support to the NATO-led operation, including intelligence, logistical support, and search and rescue assistance; (2) aircraft that have assisted in the suppression and destruction of air defenses in support of the no-fly zone; and (3) since April 23, precision strikes by unmanned aerial vehicles against a limited set of clearly defined targets in support of the NATO-led coalition’s efforts.”

“The US role is one of support,” the official said, “and the kinetic pieces of that are intermittent.”

Obama needs no Congressional support for attacks in Libya as we blow their ass into nonkinetic pieces.

Deep Nato Division Causing Problems Balancing The No Fly Zone

March 23, 2011

Deep divisions between allied forces currently bombing Libya worsened today as the German military announced it was pulling forces out of NATO over continued disagreement on who will lead the campaign.

A German military spokesman said it was recalling two frigates and AWACS surveillance plane crews from the Mediterranean, after fears they would be drawn into the conflict if NATO takes over control from the U.S.

The infighting comes as a heated meeting of NATO ambassadors yesterday failed to resolve whether the 28-nation alliance should run the operation to enforce a U.N.-mandated no-fly zone, diplomats said.

In the U.S., Obama has made it clear he wants no part of any leadership role in Libya.

The President has already been criticised for continuing with a tour of Latin America as the military operation over Libya began. And yesterday he insisted again that while Gaddafi must go, the U.S. is not prepared to remove him by force, but merely to enforce the no-fly zone.

Obama Attacks Libya, Obama Is Bush’s Fault

March 20, 2011

Announcing new international measures Friday against Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi, President Obama called it “just one more chapter in the change that is unfolding across the Middle East and North Africa.” But some of the president’s announcement seemed to take a page from a similarly historic announcement by his predecessor — even though one senior White House official said making any connection is “reading too much into it.”

Obama closed Friday’s remarks by saying, “I’ve taken this decision with the confidence that action is necessary, and that we will not be acting alone. Our goal is focused.  Our cause is just.  And our coalition is strong.”

Nearly a decade earlier, when President George W. Bush announced that U.S. forces were launching military strikes in Afghanistan, Bush said: “To all the men and women in our military … I say this: Your mission is defined. Your objectives are clear. Your goal is just.” Bush used similar wording in other remarks at the time.

Barrack Obama is now officially Bush’s fault.

Libya Supports Deep Water Drilling Moratorium,Just Not Theirs

June 27, 2010

TRIPOLI, Libya — Libya will allow BP to begin drilling in its offshore deepwater region next month, despite the massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill, the head of Libya’s National Oil Co. said Sunday.

Shokri Ghanem, who serves as Libya’s de facto oil minister, said the April explosion of the Deepwater Horizon rig, and the subsequent spill, were “tragic,” but the oil industry is also moving into “new frontiers.”

“An accident will not stop us from digging in this new frontier,” Ghanem said. “Life must go on, but we will learn a lot of lessons.”

Ghanem’s comments are the latest confirmation by the OPEC nation that it was planning to honor the contract it signed with BP in 2007 to drill in the Libyan deepwater region of the Mediterranean Sea.

BP has been battling sharp criticism over the incident which left 11 workers dead and millions of gallons of oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico.

Ghanem said that drilling at such a depth makes it difficult to know exactly what is happening.

“Accidents happen all the time. If an air crash takes place, we don’t stop air traffic,” said Ghanem. “So we have to continue but we take this step to learn more lessons,” he said.

If US moratorium is put in place, Oil Company Employers will leave the region for other countries and help turn parts of  Gulf Coast into Appalachia Part 2.
