Chavez Picks Fantasy League Dream Team For Ambassador To Caracas

January 5, 2011

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, drawing more attention to his standoff with the White House over President Obama’s pick to be an ambassador to Caracas, is suggesting alternate candidates, including Sean Penn and Bill Clinton.

“I hope they name Oliver Stone. I’ll suggest a candidate … Sean Penn, or [Noam] Chomsky. We have a lot of friends there. Bill Clinton!” Chavez said in a televised speech on Tuesday, Reuters reports.

He also mentioned that when he met Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff’s inauguration ceremony over the weekend, he asked about her husband.

Chavez rejected Obama’s nomination of Larry Palmer to be the American envoy in Caracas after the nominee raised concerns about the low morale of the Venezuelan government.

Chavez stated he  is happy with his dream team suggestions for Caracas  and said he would help in the  negotiations with Cuba to pick  Michael Moore in later round lottery pick if needed.

Hugo Chavez Hates Golf But Loves Baseball And A Government That Picks Winners and Losers

October 31, 2010

President Hugo Chavez said some of Venezuela’s golf courses should be expropriated and used for other purposes.

“That’s an injustice — that someone should have the luxury of having I don’t know how many hectares to play golf and drink whiskey and, next door, there’s misery and children dying when there are landslides,” Chavez said during his weekly television show, “Alo, Presidente.”

Dozens of people died in the past month when landslides caused their homes to collapse after heavy rains. Chavez said he will dedicate himself to resolving Venezuela’s housing shortage.

Chavez also called on Venezuelans to actively look for abandoned private land to expropriate. Chavez hates golf but loves baseball and baseball stadiums. Chavez runs a government that picks winners and losers..

Ask The Eye, Avoid Self Rightous People Grasshopper, And Lose The Pen

October 8, 2010

Dear Eye View,
I am an attorney in my late 20s. I have no student loans and have a successful and challenging career. Many of my friends work for nonprofits or do legal service work. I donate money to their organizations and attend their events. I also contribute beyond the pro bono requirements that my law firm requires. Recently, I purchased a new car. I did not tell my friends or make a production of it, but once they found out, many of them made comments like, “You could have gotten X number of people off death row with that money” or “If you can spend that much money on a car, why isn’t it a hybrid?” I don’t want to sound like I’m lamenting the plight of the yuppie, but why isn’t working hard, paying your taxes, and giving back enough? Why should I have to defend my life choices when my friends simply chose other paths?

Never Good Enough

Dear NGE

I understand your pain. Grasshopper, you should choose  another   path that will  lead you  to   new friends.  Remember the  Sensei Eye View once stated ” ultimate egotism is doing the New York Times crossword puzzle with a Pen”.  Avoid self rightous people and lose the pen  for Gods sake…Hope this helps……..
