George Zimmerman Speaks Out Hates Being In Style

July 14, 2013

Fox News contributor Bernard Goldberg is lashing out at the New York Times for its coverage of the Trayvon Martin case. His gripe? The paper’s stylebook. Let Goldberg describe his concern: The national media doesn’t do stories on black-on-black crime. They don’t do stories on black-on-white crime. The New York Times refers to George Zimmerman as a ‘white Hispanic.’ I guarantee you that if George Zimmerman did something good — if he finished first in his high school graduating class when he was younger — they wouldn’t refer to him as a white Hispanic, he’d just be a Hispanic. He’s only a ‘white Hispanic’ because they need the word ‘white’ to further the story line, which is, White, probably racist vigilante shoots an unarmed black kid.

Zimmerman Found Not Guilty Another White Hispanic On Deck

July 13, 2013

After more than 15 hours of deliberating, the six-woman jury in the trial of George Zimmerman has found the neighborhood watchman not guilty. Zimmerman was accused of profiling, pursuing, and fatally shooting Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teen, in February 2012. Zimmerman, 29, could have faced life in prison if convicted of second-degree murder. The jury also had the option to consider the lesser charge of manslaughter, which could have meant up to 30 years in prison.

Will network news cover the next white Hispanic trial?

CNN Drops Eygpt Coverage For More Zimmerman Coverage Running Out Of Juice

July 13, 2013

CNN boss Jeff Zucker said Friday that criticism that his network underplayed the Egyptian coup in favor of the George Zimmerman murder trial is “a bunch of bunk.”
CNN’s priorities in giving extensive coverage to the trial of the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer on trial for murder were questioned last week during the height of political unrest in Egypt, a story that CNN International was spending virtually all of its time on. CNN’s coverage continued Friday with the Zimmerman defense team’s closing arguments.
Sid Bedingfield, a former CNN executive who now teaches journalism at the University of South Carolina, wrote online that he worries that CNN’s Zimmerman coverage may mark a turning point in a move toward tabloid TV.

Spike Lee Tweets Wrong Address For Zimmerman Elderly Couple Now Experiencing Mo’ Better Blues

March 28, 2012

With Twitter and Facebook continuing to explode with posts purporting to contain the address of George Zimmerman, property records and interviews reveal that the home is actually the longtime residence of a married Florida couple, both in their 70s, who have no connection to the man who killed Trayvon Martin and are now living in fear due to erroneous reports about their connection to the shooter.

The mass dissemination of the address on Edgewater Circle in Sanford–the Florida city where Martin was shot to death last month–took flight last Friday when director Spike Lee retweeted a tweet containing Zimmerman’s purported address to his 240,000 followers.

Spike Lee loose with the facts, while using artistic license, ignites passion while  tweeting wrong address for George Zimmerman, putting Florida elderly couple at risk.
