Eye View Business, Subway Passes McDonalds In Number Of Restaurants But Both Are Intimidated By The Colonel

March 13, 2011

As 2010 drew to a close, Subway edged McDonald’s in locations operating worldwide 33,749 to 32,737, according to Securities and Exchange Commission filings in February. Subway, which passed McDonald’s in U.S. locations about nine years ago, has been aggressively seeking growth overseas. Subway opened its first international location in Bahrain in 1984 and expects its number of international restaurants to outnumber its domestic locations by 2020. Both companies are dwarfed in international presence by Yum! Brands, which has 38,000 international locations. Yum! Brands comprises multiple popular franchises such as KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.

Both Subway and McDonalds are dwarfed in the presence of the Colonel.

Burger King Kills A Man, Don’t Mess With The King

December 10, 2010

DETROIT – Detroit police say a  Burger King employee who was arguing with a customer punched the 67-year-old man, who fell and later died.

Police spokesman Yvette Walker says the older man was reportedly causing a disturbance Thursday afternoon at the restaurant on the city’s east side, tried to hit the employee and the employee swung back. WJBK-TV reports police say the punch may have caused the elderly man to choke on his dentures.

The man died at a hospital. Walker says an autopsy will determine cause of death. Police say the employee was being held Friday and information would be submitted to prosecutors for review.

Burger King spokeswoman Denise Wilson said Friday that company officials were aware of the incident and the franchise owner was cooperating with police.

Take away…Don’t mess with the King.

Burger King Employee Makes An F*ing Statement With Passive Agressive Receipt

November 17, 2010
Burger King corporate stepped in and fired two of its employees after a drive through receipt with some choice words made it on national television.

Sacramento resident Francisco Perez told KCRA TV after  ordering food at the Sacramento restaurant, he noticed his receipt read “f— you” in the area that would normally say “thank you.”  The four-letter profanity was spelled out not once, but twice.

One day after that story aired, a Burger King manager and an employee have been let go according to a company statement released Wednesday.

“Burger King Corp. (BKC) and the franchisee that owns and operates this restaurant deeply regret that this incident occurred,” Burger King’s Denise T. Wilson wrote. “The franchisee has taken immediate corrective action and both the manager and employee are being terminated. The franchisee will be reaching out to the guest directly.”

Wilson added we knew the King has been under pressure but dropping the F’bomb is something the clown would do…

Eye View Business, Burger King Sales Low, Unemployment, Calorie Content, Creepy Factor High

September 3, 2010

Burger King’s new ruler could help its empire expand.

Burger King Holdings Inc. sealed a deal Thursday to sell itself for $3.26 billion to 3G Capital, an investment firm with strong ties to Latin America. The fast-food chain’s chairman and CEO, John Chidsey, said the deal will help it expand more rapidly overseas.

Burger King has more than 12,100 locations around the world and perennially lags its far larger competitor McDonald’s Corp. It struggled to keep up with its rival during the economy’s roller coaster of the past two years.

Its biggest problem: high unemployment among its most important, but notoriously fickle, group of customers — young men between 18 and 34, whom it has targeted with big burgers like the 930-calorie BK Quad Stacker and edgy ads featuring the creepy King character.

Women having it their way, want nothing to do with  Creepy King…

The Obamas Send More Mixed Messages On National War Strategy

July 16, 2010

“In a comical move even for a czar-happy president who has rewarded dozens of cronies with distinguished titles, the White House has named the Obamas’ personal Chicago cook as ‘Senior Policy Adviser for Healthy Food Initiatives,’” reports the Washington government watchdog Judicial Watch.

“It’s no joke, even though it sounds like a bad one. The Chicago chef’s rapid ascension … has been kept under the radar for the last month,” Judicial Watch said.

“Sam Kass went from being a 20-something, Windy City gourmet cook – privately paid by the Obamas to feed them – to big-time White House adviser in a matter of months,” the report said.

But it makes sense, the report said, since Michelle Obama has claimed that childhood obesity is a threat to “national security.”

According to an earlier report, Michelle Obama confirmed – in talking about her White House campaign against obesity – that the condition “impacts national security” because it is a “disqualifier for military service.”
