First Hamburger Grown In Lab, Security On High Alert

August 7, 2013

A Dutch scientist is offering the world’s first cultivated beef made of stem cells to taste. He believes the lab-grown meat will feed the world and help save the environment. The tasting event happens amid UN calls to invest more in food innovation.
The 5-ounce burger which costs $332,000 to produce was fried and taste-tested by volunteers at an event in London on Monday, Bloomberg quotes the creator of the burger scientist Mark Post of Maastricht University.Sergey Brin, co-founder and CEO of Google, bankrolled the scientists’ project to promote animal welfare. The muscle stem cells, taken by harmless biopsy from living cows, are fed and nurtured so they multiply to create muscle tissue. The cells grow into strands, and 20,000 of them get combined to create one burger. Bon Qui Qui on high alert

Ask the Eye..Young and Clueless in the Workplace

April 28, 2010

Dear Moody Eye View

I have been out of college for a year and have a great job doing contest promotions for a radio company. A very nice co-worker of mine co-hosts a popular morning show. I’ve found out a secret about her, and I don’t know what to do. She appears to be 25 or 26 years old, but I discovered she’s really in her late 30s! This is very disturbing. From the way she jokes around, walks, and looks, you would never know she’s an older lady. Her audience is mostly college-age kids, and she does appearances at campuses and bars. That’s so creepy! Her birthday is next week, and she has invited me and a few others my age to lunch. Since news of her age spread like wildfire through my department, some of us have bought her gag gifts—an inflatable walker, denture cream, etc. She’s in a youth-oriented business, and I don’t think she understands how pathetic and out of place she really is. I can’t help staring at her like she’s some strange creature. Should I confront her with what I know? And how do I maintain a professional relationship with someone who’s a huge phony, desperately clinging to youth?

Young and Able

Dear Young and Able

Based on your letter, even though not stated, I would have to assume you are jealous back stabbing 20- something year old girl. Guys would find your coworker  hot and otherwise not care. Also, the word creepy is frowned upon in most locker rooms. You are a real piece of work. First I would like to suggest it is illegal for you to go through  your coworkers personal files. Second most women don’t expire like dairy products and third  grow up, and get a life, you give out t-shirts for radio contests . Your parents spent a lot of money sending your worthless ass through school. Also having a great job does not mean doing a great job. If you are hot, which I doubt, your co-worker already  has you on Mangements hit list. Stay out of office files and quit spreading rumors or someone will call security on you. Hope this helps young able and  dumb ass..
