Sarkozy’s insecurities: 5ft5in French president brings custom-built lectern to America so he won’t look too petite

March 31, 2010

You would  think that after wooing and winning one of the world’s most beautiful women, Nicolas Sarkozy would have no problems with his self-image.

However you’d be selling his vanity a bit short.

The 5ft 5ins French president Nicolas Sarkozy had a custom-built lectern especially flown to America so that he would not look too small when delivering a keynote speech.

Aides made sure that the wooden stand was packed into his official plane which arrived in New York from Paris on Sunday.

It was specially designed to allow him to ‘look authoritative and statesman-like’ when he addressed academics and students at Columbia University in New York City yesterday..  No mention of a little tiny French teleprompter……. All Show No Go…

Thieves tunnel into Paris bank to steal cash and jewelery worth $22million in French ‘crime of the century’

March 31, 2010

At least £22million in cash and jewelery has been stolen after four men tunnelled into the vaults of a Paris bank and emptied 200 safes.

The heist – already being described as France’s ‘crime of the century’ – saw the gang start digging in a neighbouring cellar, before using pickaxes and a even a flame thrower to break through 31in thick walls to the vaults.

They then spent ‘a leisurely time’ breaking open and emptying the high-security private safe deposit boxes, police said.

The gang, nicknamed The Termites, is thought to have spent several days weakening the walls before they struck.

The crime at the Credit Lyonnais bank over the weekend appeared to be a copy of the notorious Spaggiari heist, which took place in Nice more than 30 years ago.

Dances With The Stars.. Recap Who’s The First To Go

March 31, 2010

US President Barack Obama and French President Nicholas Sarkozy recently teamed up on Dances with the Stars.

The judges seemed to appreciate the couple’s two dances, calling their jive “energetic” and their  hustle “ambitious.” But fans polling has failed, so far  to keep them afloat. Judges’ scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which celebrity is eliminated each week. Still waiting on the Iranian judges comments……..

March 30, 2010

Health Care Tater Toss

March 30, 2010

With the new pre-existing condition and cover uninsured  mandate portion of the new health care bill;  there will be a pass  the  hot tater chain of events  to pick up the huge additional costs.  Young adults  forced  to  buy their own insurance, will carry a heavier burden of the medical costs for  older Americans— a shift expected to raise insurance premiums for young people when the plan takes full effect. Beginning in 2014, most Americans will be required to buy insurance or pay a tax penalty. That’s when premiums for young adults seeking coverage on the individual market would likely climb by 17% on average, or roughly $42 a month, according to an analysis of the plan conducted for The Associated Press.

Once that  becomes too hot, the young  will attempt to shift their tater cost (and possibly their spouse and childrens tater cost as well)  to their  parents  health care coverage until the age of 26. Once that becomes too hot, the  parents will attempt to shift their tater cost to medical insurance providers or the federal government. Once that happens the insurance companies, with the crushing requirements and small federal co-payments,  will be out of business leaving government to be the full health care provider. That should make everyones tater hot…

Look There…. Not Here….. Logic Whiplash

March 30, 2010

President Barack Obama has signed a law that finalizes his health care overhaul and makes the government the issuer of all federal college loans. The new law strips banks of their ability to issue federal student loans in favor of direct government lending. Obama claims that $61 billion dollars will be saved by eliminating banks (that we bailed out) as the middle men in servicing student loans. What he did not mention is the additional cost of building a new government buracracy to handle these loans, will eventually far outspend the $61B, the job loss in the private banking sector (we bailed out), and possible political advantages  towards “acceptable or unacceptable schools” deemed worthy to receive student loans. Also this program will promote social engineering by  forgiving student loans for those graduates who choose to work in “acceptable jobs” within the  government for 10 years or more.

He also didn’t say this is the exact blueprint for the government to  eventually take over health care.. it is bundled in with the health care bill.. This Look There Not Here Strategy is giving everyone logic whiplash. Community Organizing on Steroids..
