Germans Fail To Show Up For Obama, Suffers Smokey Floyd Rock Moment

June 19, 2013

Barack Obama returned to Berlin today, almost five years to the day from when he delivered his famous “Victory Column” speech that cemented his reputation as an international rockstar. Unfortunately, his reception this time was a lot different.

An estimated 200,000 people turned out in July 2008 to see then Candidate Obama deliver an address in front of one of Germany’s most notable landmarks. He took a lot of criticism from Germans for his choice of location and from his U.S. political opponents who weren’t happy about seeing an American presidential hopeful being adored by tens of thousands of foreigners. In June 2013, approximately  8,000 showed up…He’s “demystified” and “no longer a superstar in German eyes.

Ask The Eye, Tell Your Stepbrother To Stay Away From Your Drum Set

June 18, 2013

Dear Eye View

I’m a 24-year-old woman who recently moved back home with my parents. My stepbrother is 31 years old and has never left the nest. After moving in, I noticed that my dirty unmentionables began disappearing. Last week, after entering my stepbrother’s room, I found an article hanging beneath his pillow. He’s been my brother for almost 15 years. I don’t know how to approach this. I love him, but I’m seriously creeped out. What should I do?

Dear Creeped Out

I understand your concern. Let your folks know the situation and do not under any circumstance let him near your drum set.. Hope this helps..

Iphone Updates Now Allow Direct Access To Fearless Leader

June 18, 2013

AT&T has started pushing out a new update to customers with an iPhone  5/4S that will include the now FCC-mandated Wireless Emergency Alert system.  It’s also been reported that some iPhone 4 users are getting the update.

This wireless emergency alert system allows the government to issue safety  messages that are similar to text messages. This alert system has been in place  for a while with alerts starting back in April 2012.

These alerts can be Presidential, imminent threat alerts (these tell people about hurricanes,  earthquakes, tornadoes and other disasters that present a threat to life or  property) and AMBER alerts that will send out information about abducted  children.

New presidential switch on Iphones now allow direct link to fearless leader. Amber alert and safety alert can be switched off unfortunately presidental switch to fearless leader can not..

Eye View On Broadway Baldwin Snub, Flashes His Schweddy Balls

June 16, 2013

Alec Baldwin just can’t win on Broadway.

After his ill-fated “Orphans” closed early and he was then snubbed by the Tonys, the former “30 Rock” star seemingly was barred from a VIP bathroom at Nathan Lane’s Tony-winning show, “The Nance,” last week — even though his pregnant wife made the grade. But when Baldwin tried to use the same facility, he was barred and had to use a toilet downstairs — with the rest of the riffraff.

“Alec was stopped by security and told he couldn’t use that bathroom, which was for employees,” a spy said, adding that a disgruntled Baldwin then was overheard joking to Hilaria and friends in the lobby, ‘They won’t let me use that bathroom. I guess I’m not famous enough!”

Broadway snub makes Baldwin flash his schweddy balls.

Brain Drain Alert… Lawmakers And Aides Looking To Retire Due To Obamacare

June 13, 2013

Dozens of lawmakers and aides are so afraid that their health insurance  premiums will skyrocket next year thanks to Obamacare that they are thinking  about retiring early or just quitting. The fear: Government-subsidized premiums will disappear at the end of the  year under a provision in the health care law that nudges aides and lawmakers  onto the government health care exchanges, which could make their benefits  exorbitantly expensive. The problem is far more acute in the House, where lawmakers and aides are  generally younger and less wealthy.
If the issue isn’t resolved, and massive numbers of lawmakers and aides bolt,  many on Capitol Hill fear it could lead to a brain drain just as Congress  tackles a slew of weighty issues — like fights over the Tax Code and immigration  reform.

Lawmakers who signed bill now threaten brain drain over Obamacare. D’oh

AP Once Again Disappointed By Derecho Storm No Show

June 13, 2013

A massive storm system originally forecast to affect one in five Americans from Iowa to Maryland surged Thursday toward the Mid-Atlantic after causing widespread power outages but largely failing to live up to its billing in ferocity through the Upper Midwest. Authorities in Ohio reported early Thursday that high winds from possible tornadoes had damaged barns in the northwest and left thousands in the Buckeye State without power. Meteorologists warned about the possibility of a weather event called a derecho (deh-RAY’-choh), which is a storm of strong straight-line winds spanning at least 240 miles. By early Thursday, a derecho hadn’t developed. And Greg Carbin of the National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., said, “With each hour that goes by, it’s less likely.”

AP end of world weather forecast once again fails to live up to billing.

Ask The Eye Run Forrest Run

June 11, 2013

Dear Eye View

My fiancée and I are having some difficulties regarding budget issues for our wedding. I found out that in addition to choosing the most expensive vendors possible, she has hired a choreographer and could spend considerably more than $10,000 for costumes, dancers, dance lessons, etc. for a wedding performance piece starring her. It screams of excess and narcissism and I find it distasteful. I would be much more comfortable with a simple ceremony and reception. Where should I draw the line? My feeling is that a wedding is about a celebration of family and friends, and we should try to be good hosts, while her opinion is that this is a day for people to celebrate and focus on us. Do I have a leg to stand on to tell her I think that the dance is a waste of money and embarrassing, or should I back off?

June 11, 2013

The Obama administration will stop trying to limit sales of emergency contraception pills, making the morning-after pill available to women of all ages without a prescription.

The US justice department said in a letter on Monday that it planned to comply with a court’s ruling to allow unrestricted sales of Plan B One-Step and that it would withdraw its appeal on the matter. President’s reversal means emergency contraception drug will be available to women of all ages without a prescription. Obama attempts to push NSA scandal to the background..

Off -The- Grid- Going Green Movement Swaps Convenience For Privacy

June 10, 2013

WASHINGTON — What can people do to protect their privacy from massive data-mining efforts by U.S. and other intelligence services? Reports in The Washington Post and the Guardian newspapers this week allege that the government has been secretly accessing the phone records of tens of millions of Verizon customers, as well as online videos, emails, photos and other data collected by nine Internet service providers. Privacy advocates say most consumers long ago swapped privacy for convenience, but few realize the degree to which their digital activities are being tracked. The answer to protecting your privacy  is not much, short of going off the grid completely.

Future  ”off the grid going green movement”  will swap convenience for privacy.
